Foyer

The 11-meter high atrium space is made with abundant use of aluminum produced in Toyama Prefecture for the ceiling and walls. The texture changes depending on weather. If it's rainy or cloudy it looks cool, while it's sunny it looks warm.
Central Corridor

The ceiling and walls of the corridor that runs through the center of the building are made of cedar tree from the satoyama area of Himi City. It was designed so that it functions not only for exhibitions but also as a huge hang-out space. The angle of each lattice is adjusted so as to suit various exhibitions no matter whether they're western or Japanese. Beneath the wooden materials are included sound-absorbing material. Thanks to this structure, visitors can indulge themselves in viewing the art works in calmness, embraced by gentle smell and warmth of those trees.
Polar Bears
